Flavor Flav was arrested Thursday morning in New York for speeding and driving with a suspended license.
New York State troopers arrested Flavor Flav on Thursday morning for driving with a suspended license, but then shortly released Flav so he could attend his mother’s funeral.
According to New York State police, Flavor Flav (born William Drayton) was stopped for driving 24 miles over the speed limit on the Meadowbrook State Parkway in Hempstead at around 9:30 a.m. He was going 79 mph in a 55 speed zone. A routine check revealed Flav had 16 suspensions on his license, and police also found a “small amount” of marijuana.
Flav was arrested for Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and other traffic violations. However, the New York State Police released Flav so he could attend his mother’s funeral. Anna Drayton, his mom, passed away on December 31st.
He’ll have to appear at Nassau County First District Court in Hempstead at a later date.
